If this is your first appointment with us, you can fill out the pre-visit forms prior to your visit so we have them ready, or you should arrive a few minutes early to fill them out prior to being seen.
Please bring any information you have regarding any medications or supplements your pet is taking and copies of any recent lab tests such as bloodwork. We are happy to call your regular veterinarian to obtain any information you do not have.
You and your pet will usually be seen within a few minutes of your scheduled appointment time. Dr. Mayes will obtain a detailed history of your pet’s general health. Please be sure to mention any medical conditions for which your pet is currently being treated. She will ask about any dental/oral problems that your pet is experiencing, and examine your pet.
Dr. Mayes will then explain what has been found on the exam, how it may be affecting your pet, and the treatment options. She will answer any questions that you might have regarding your pet’s treatment and outcome, and then a detailed estimate of the costs of any proposed treatment will be prepared. Once this has been gone over and all questions have been answered we will schedule your pet for the next available opening.
We will always do our best to ensure that the treatments are within the estimates provided. There are times when something unexpected may be found during the course of treating your pet. If this happens we will contact you with the findings along with treatment recommendations.
If, at any time, you have any questions or concerns regarding your pet’s treatment, we are more than happy to discuss them with you.
